Well as you all would have heard about by now, London was hit by a massive snowfall yesterday (the biggest in 6yrs actually). It all started on Sunday about 12pm whilst I was already out without a jacket on and froze my ass off. It came down all night and when I got up Monday morning it was like a foot deep and although I didn’t feel that well (always take a jacket out in London) I couldn’t get to work because all public transport was closed.
So rather than hiding inside I rugged up and headed down to my local park to put my new camera to use. The park was amazing, it was like a ski field, and people were treating it like one…fantastic!
Today I am working from home because there are still massive delays on my train line but things should be back to normal tomorrow.
Below are some of the photos from the day.

To celebrate Australia Day over here in gloomy London I wore my yellow Oz soccer jersey, I was also going to wear my green Billabong board shorts and my Aussie flag one plugers but it was way too cold.
After work I headed into the city with some other Aussies for drinks at a Walkabout pub. The place was absolutly packed to the brim with trashed Aussies (and Poms) drinking beers and eating pies! I met up with Emily and her sister as well as Cherie from Australia, didn’t get too pissed as I had work the next day but it was awesome.

To continue making the most of my time off work I went to Paris for New Year’s Eve.
We took the Eurostar again and was there in no time, even with the delays that they are currently having, it’s definately the best way to travel. It was absolutly freezing in Paris which made sight seeing difficult but we saw the main attractions even with it snowing on one day.
The Eiffle Tower was an amazing sight, everyone knows it iconic shape but it’s totally different seeing it as a constant back drop while walking around the city. Some of the best photos I got at night from the bottom of the tower as you can see above, I am so glad I bought another good camera for such events.
The Arc De Triumph was also spectacular, it reminded me of the Brandonburg Gates in Berlin, again the night shots were the best.
On New Year’s Eve I found a seafood Market around the corner from our hotel and bought some massive prawns and a 6 pack of Coronas …lovely! That night we had a restaurant booked across the river from the Eiffle Tower and just before midnight we went outside to watch the fireworks, unfortunately the only fireworks were those lit by the bloke next to me but the tower lit up which was good enough.
The last day was really really cold with dense fog so we didn’t get much done, I think I might go back for a weekend in Summer this year, just need to start saving now, Paris us the most expensive place I have been in all of Europe – €12 for a pint in some places!!!
