Lost Pidgeon

Lost Pidgeon

Last week while shopping at Carnaby St in London I saw this posted on a pole outside a shop…hilarious.
Other then that I haven’t been up to much, been working a fair bit and still loving it heaps. Still haven’t managed to get out of London since I got here really but that should change soon (as the bank balance starts to build up again).
Have booked accommodation and flights to Oktoberfest now so that’s 100%, ended up staying at some camping grounds with a few other people so that will be interesting when drunk to say the least.
Rob, one of my friends from AUS is planning on heading over early next year for a little while so I am pretty excited about that, will be able to show someone around and get on the piss a lot more.
Oh yeah go Australia in the Olympics!!!

Nightsky in South London last night.

Nightsky in South London last night.

Quick Update:
Last night was pretty stormy and today I found a heap of photos from around England and thought it would be a nice post. Reminds me of when I was living in Darwin, Australia.

More cool photos here.

Quiet Weekend

The London Eye

So I ended up having a quiet weekend at home, the weather was kinda shit and I really need to save some money. It was pretty good though, had some drinks chilled out at home and watched some movies.

On Sunday I ventured into the city to go to the Borough Markets (which are meant to be really good) except the were fricking shut! So I went to Carnaby Street to buy some new clothes but really just wasn’t in the mood so I left in a huff and come back home to where it was warm.

Should be busy at work this week with lots of interesting new web stuff coming up so I am looking forward to that.

Hope everyone is doin alright back home.

British Motorshow, Brick Lane & Batman

Rozzers

So Friday I moved offices from the 2nd floor in our building to the ground floor, the office is huge now and our London office is merging with us too so I am quiet excited about that.

After a really hot day I picked up some steaks and Coronas on the way home from work and cooked myself up a meal then sat back and watched some episodes of Weeds. It was a good way to end the week.

Saturday morning I got up early and went for a walk in the park near my place, need to try and get a little exercise as my indulgent eurotrip has left it’s mark on me. Going to look at joining a gym here too just got to find a good one I can get to on the way to work.

Subaru JustySo after that I went to the ‘British Motorshow’ and it was umm well massive. Compared to the Brisbane Motorshow anyway. It was about 4 or 5 times larger inside and had a massive outdoor section with a race track and 4×4 demos. I also got a photo with James May’s “Rozzers” cop car from ‘Top Gear’ which was cool and got to check out the new Skyline GTR and the new WRX STi. There were many of other classics there as well as a little special car that would be perfect for Justy.

Saturday night I went to a club at Brick Lane (a famous London street for Indian food), was an Australian girls birthday that I meet the weekend before. I met some pretty cool people and we all got pretty wasted, it was great.

Sunday I felt pretty crap so went out and got some late breakfast/lunch and watched ‘The Dark Kinght’. I really enjoyed it even though everyone said it was a little overrated. I would say it was Heath’s best performace and if the Oscar is for best supporting he probably deserves it.

Anyways I am hoping to go away to Scotland this weekend either Glasgow or Edinburgh.

London Roller Girls - Summer Shovin

London Roller Girls - Summer Shovin

On Saturday night I was invited to a new sport, it’s an all girls roller derby…and it was fantastic!

The girls all dress up in shorts skirts, fishnet stockings other various accessories and then they skate around smashing into each other to score points. There are a few more rules and such but that’s pretty much the gist of it. There were proper refs and loads of spectators, a really professional show, definitely going to go to the next one.

Below is some video I took whilst sitting on the side line during the final quarter!
