As the title expresses, I am quiet bummed about my weekend.
I booked tickets over a month ago to go and see Top Gear Live at the MPH Motor Show in London this Saturday. The tube lines were down so I had to catch replacement buses that more than tripled my trip, once arriving at the MPH show it appeared to be almost the same as the British Motor Show (except they had a cool replica Bat Mobile) I went to a couple of months back so decided the £22 ticket price was still OK because I got to see the Top Gear guys perform a live show. Their recorded show on the BBC is booked solid for the next few years too by the way.
I stand in line for almost an hour, the queue finally starts to slowly shuffle in, I get to the gate and I am informed that I do not have tickets for the show…only the car display!
I argued for a while and then was shown that a Top Gear Live inclusive ticket is £38 and I have stupidly booked the wrong tickets online.
I had a drink and then went shopping to cheer myself up!
The new 1.6 billion pound (3.9 Billion AUD according to XE) Westfield shopping centre in London opened during the week so I thought I would drop by and check it out. It was pretty much what you would expect for that price, all the most expensive stores in the world, flat screen TVs everywhere and loads and loads of cool stores.
I ended up getting some new jeans and some leather gloves (the snow gloves I have been wearing make me a little clumsy when trying to put my train ticket into the gates). There was massive displays on, a Boost Juice (first one I have seen over here) and even live lingerie models in the windows of a store!
Sunday was quiet, washed clothes, cleaned up and bought some new bedding to cater for the cold snaps we have been having (snowing and what not).
I have a massive week ahead of me and Seal’s site will be going live soon, so I imagine more late nights. On the plus side I will be getting a new work computer (encouragement to work harder maybe?) and you will all get to see some of my hard work

London Snow
On Tuesday night it snowed in London, the first time snow has fallen in London in October since 1934.
I was sitting on the computer and noticed the sky was a weird orange colour but didn’t think much of it, an hour or so later as I was going to bed I looked out the window and my back porch was covered in ice, but so was the trees and the fence…it was snowing!!!
I took a couple of photos but it was dark and they didn’t turn out well, so above is a nice one google provided.

As I said before on Wednesday I got to go and see Seal perform live at Ronnie Scott’s a really famous Jazz bar in West End. The gig was awesome and I meet some cool people including Seal’s manager.
I was meant to have a meeting with Seal and his manager after the show but Seal got pulled away for TV interviews, fingers crossed I will get a chance to speak with him once he comes back from shows around Europe.

This weekend I saw the new Cohan brothers movie ‘Burn After Reading’ which was really funny, and quite dark. classic Cohan brothers.
On Saturday I tried to go to the gym at Baker St as it only just opened but when I arrived it turned out it was a ‘Black Label’ club and my membership doesn’t allow me to go there, so feeling like a second class citizen I just walked home.
Saturday night was really good though as we went out at Covent Garden to a few pubs and then to a club called ‘Roadhouse’ which was like an American rock themed club (looked a lot like a Hard Rock Cafe). There was a cool live band and the music they played after was awesome, however the £12 cover charge and the expensive drinks probably make it a one night only thing.
On Wednesday I have been invited by Seal’s manager to see Seal perform a private set at a famous club in West End called ‘Ronnie Scott’s’. He will be playing classic jazz songs from his new album Soul.
Seal is a new client of ours and I have the privilege of designing his new site www.seal.com and updating his social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook. I will post some pics from the event later in the week.

OK so I have been back in London for a few weeks now and just been a little lazy on the blog entries.
What have I been up to? …umm I have been working pretty hard, we have a heap of client work on lately which has been keeping me busy and I have finally just started on doing some work for Seal which I am pretty excited about.
Have been spending my money on drinks quiet a bit too, the picture above is from a night out in Gilford with a few guys I work with. Catching the tube home after a night out drinking is always a challenge.
On the weekend I visited the New Era: LND store (the place that makes those caps with the gold sticker that people leave on) and it was amazing, I didn’t get anything though cause the styles I wanted didn’t fit my big head (7 1/4 inches) but I will be back.
To finish off I have finally joined the gym again, Fitness First because I can go to any of their gyms in London which will make things easier for me on the way to and from work as well as being able to go to one near my place on the weekends. The hard part will be getting rid of 9mths of eating and drinking to excess.
